Hviezdoslavovo námestie 10

Nestor Palace

The building is located in the historic center of the conservation area and is a cultural monument. In its proximity, you can find Hotel Devin and Park Inn Danube, the Embassy of the Czech Republic, the Embassy of the United States and other buildings used primarily for administrative purposes, and to a lesser extent also as residential buildings.

The palace was built in the first half of the 19th century. Since then, it has been reconstructed several times. Last reconstruction took place in the years of 1993 to 1996 when mainly in terms of the external expression the building was put into its original state. It is a five-storey building - basement (underground floor), three floors and an attic. At present, it houses the Embassy of the Federal Republic of Germany. The main entrance to the building is from Fish Square and the side entrance, with operation of Visa Department, from Hviezdoslavovo Square.

The building served mainly to housing until the end of the 1920s, including its representational premises of its street wing.
